Heart test (DCM)
Gretel has tested negative for DCM aged nearly 6 years old.
According to Prof. Luis Lobo's studies on this condition in the Estrela, a clear heart test at age 5 or above is thought to indicate that the Estrela is completely clear of this terrible condition which causes sudden death; below the age of 5, even if the heart is found to be clear in testing, the condition could still manifest itself later).

Thyroid
Gretel has tested negative for hypothyroidism; please click here for her thyroid testing results from 2019. Gretel had been tested and determined free of hypothyroidism in 2017 but, given that Missy, her mother, had suffered from the condition (until cured by way of homeopathy), we felt it prudent to repeat the test prior to breeding.
Diabetes
