Ébano came to us at five years old, originally from Portugal. He was a truly wonderful dog and almost everyone who met him fell in love with him: he was calmness personified with an air of regality and very affectionate; whilst content to relax whenever possible, he was exceedingly agile, with an astonishing turn of speed when he wanted to, and he was a superb guard dog, barking only when absolutely necessary. He loved to lie in the middle of the lawn and survey his territory (in fact he preferred to sleep at the bottom of the garden most nights rather than be in the house) and had a penchant for curry. He was a wonderful example of the breed and very much a credit to his breeders. He, sadly for us, passed over at the age of 15.5, suddenly and very peacefully at home after a short deterioration in his health. |
